II vi aka Quadra 650 with Apple PC Processor -

Code names: Brazil, Lego - This Macintosh IIvi
is something special! The original processor is
replaced with an Quadra 650 18MHz what brings
it to a total of 35 MHz and gives a plus of 10
% in performance (and it makes it to a LowEndMac
best buy !). A second HD is installed, replacing
the build in CD drive. Total Space on the two
drives ca 400 MB.
But is gets better: Inside you find an
original Apple PC Card (BCGM3581 - 820-0658-C)
including a real 486 processor. One of the drives
in the Mac is fromated for PC and a WINDOWS v6-d
is running additional to a Mac OS 7.6-d - realtime
- you can switch between the Mac and the PC by
the keystroke "Apple + Return". Thsi
is a great computer for universitys, laboratorys
or other places where older systems still run.
The Mac comes without periphery (a special display
cable is included) you can buy optional : Display,
Keyboard
or SCSI external
drive. You need to use an Apple Color Display
( 640 x 480 at 67 HZ ) to display with the Mac
and the PC.
The IIvi was never sold in the United States.
Unlike the IIvx, the IIvi cannot accept a level
2 (L2) cache, although it can accept an accelerator.
The Mac IIvi was the first Mac available with
a built-in CD-ROM drive and also the first Mac
to use a metal case.

Code names: Brazil, Lego - Ein Mac II vi mit
eingebautem Logic Board eines Quadra 650, das
macht den Rechner schon mal zu einem
LowEndMac Best Buy! Zunächst
einmal wurde der Original 16,5 MHz Quartz gegen
einen mit 18 MHz getauscht, was die Leistung auf
gigantische 36 MHz anhebt und den Rechner auch
um ca. 10% beschleunigt. Als nächstes sind
sämtliche RAM-Bänke belegt und ergeben
zusammen einen Gesamtspeicher von 48MB. Das CD-Laufwerk
wurde gegen eine zweite Festplatte (127MB) getauscht.
In Kombination mit der ersten Platte (270MB) ergeben
sich somit knappe 400MB. Beide Rechner sind getestet,
das WINDOWS aber nicht auf weitere Funktion, ich
habe keine Ahnung von C:/blabla... Keine Garantie
für die Funktion seitens WINDOWS ;-)
Das Sahnehäubchen jedoch ist die eingebaute
original Apple PC Card (BCGM3581
- 820-0658-C) 486er Karte (ich glaube mit 66 MHz
Intel 486DX2 Prozessor), die einen kompletten
PC im Mac generiert. Einschließlich getrenntem
Arbeitsspeicher (16MB direkt auf der Karte) und
Festplatte. Der PC ist dabei voll in den Mac integriert
und kann mittels Kontrollfeld bzw. Tastenkombination
umgeschaltet werden, wobei es sich tatsächlich
um zwei getrennte Rechner handelt. Selbst die
Monitorausgabe kann mittels Spezialkabel auf zwei
getrennte Monitore gelegt werden. Installiert
ist MS-DOS 5.0 (auf der zweitenPlatte) und ein
paar DOS-Progrämmchen. Man benötigt
einen Apple Color Display ( 640 x 480 at 67 HZ
) zum Anzeigen des Mac und PC
(nicht enthalten, optional).
Auf Mac-Seite befindet sich ein frisch aufgespieltes
OS 7.6 mit allerlei Programmen (siehe Liste) zum
testen. Weder Betriebssystem noch Programme sind
jedoch Bestandteil dieser Auktion und müssen
bei fehlender Lizenz natürlich umgehend gelöscht
werden. Das Gerät wurde ausgiebig getestet
und funktioniert einwandfrei bis auf das Diskettenlaufwerk,
das recht wählerisch mit dem Diskettenfutter
ist. Ansonsten keine Peripherie, o. Ä. -
Tastatur,
Monitor
und externe SCSI
HD kann man hier optional kaufen.
