A visitor asked me

Quote:
Hello! I'm looking for a Mac game... it's very old. It was a memory card game but I don't remember the actual name. I remember it was black and white and you could choose how many pairs of cards to have on the screen. I would like to play it again. Any insight on where to find it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lanik

Dear Lanik - I dont have a game ecactly like you discribe,
but at our WebSE you can play a "System 7.0 Memory Game".

It was included in our January 24. 2006 Update - WebSE version 7.1

Thanks to our Forum Member Guido Deiana from http://www.lisa2.it
we have now an Italian Version ! Test Drive An Italian Mac Very Happy

Lukas and me are working on an offline version of this game,
so you can play it at home Smile offline. I send it to you if we finished it,
and I add a link here at the forum for all of you to download it.

Here are some links where you can search for your game:

Freak http://home.hawaii.rr.com/m68kg/games.html
Freak http://home.planet.nl/%7Epulle071/firemac/index.htm
Freak http://www.giantmike.com/old.html
Freak http://ftp.actrix.co.nz/macintosh/

If you get .img files - use DiskCopy (download with "save as...")
to make a disk from the disk.image file.

If you get .hqx.sea or .sit files - use StuffIt Expander 4.0 (download with "save as...")
to decode the compressed files.

Sorry - the Expander 4.0 is also compressed - isn¥t it a devilish circle ?

The Macintosh WayBackMachine

If you are a WebSE simulation user you will allready know the game Memory System7. Since 2006 it is part of our online Mac System7 simulation. Because many visitors asked for an offline version of WebSE we decided to make an offline version of our tiny ICON memory game. A puzzle-memory game in which you flip one card and try to find the matching card in the laid out deck of cards. The ICONs used in the game are designed by Susane Kare, mother of all Mac ICONs.

Download Memory System7

Include Memory System 7 to your own page

Copy the following code and paste it to your page.
You don¥t need to upload the game, it is stored on this Server.

Code:
<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" WIDTH="350" HEIGHT="250">
<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="http://myoldmac.net/share/memorySystem7/MemorySystem7.swf">
<PARAM NAME=menu VALUE=false><PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high><PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#CCCCCC>
<EMBED src="http://myoldmac.net/share/memorySystem7/MemorySystem7.swf" menu=false quality=high bgcolor=#CCCCCC  WIDTH="350" HEIGHT="250" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
</OBJECT>

Have fun!
