|

Hi,
just wanted to show my newest addition to the collection:
An Apple ][ Europlus in great condition, including the ][+ display stand,
an orange Phillips display and two Disk ][ drives.
The Apple ][ Europlus with display stand (Apple original part)
and an orange Phillips display.
The original Apple ][ D.O.S. disk
The Apple ][ Europlus keyboard - no Apple key, no arrow up/down -
but a "BELL" key - for what is that one?
A bunch of different ROM installed - looks like inside of an IC second hand shop.
wow... two ROMs have a MICROSOFT copyright 1977... the BASIC ROMs.
The Serial Number on the case bottom
A strange switch on the keyboard encoder board -
you can switch between "RESET" and CNTR (Control)?
Does anyone knows for what this switch is for?
This question has been cleared:
That switch allows you to reset the machine by
simply pressing RESET alone, or by Control-RESET.
It was added when people were finding that it was
too easy to accidently reset the machine by RESET
alone. _________________ MacOS aka Oliver

Apple II plus & europlus
MORE HARDWARE ADD-ONS
.... and finally by making it necessary to press the CTRL key and the RESET together to make a RESET cycle happen. The keyboards that had the CTRL-RESET feature made it user selectable via a small slide switch just inside the case (some people didn't want to have to press the CTRL key to do a RESET).

I can't believe that you have that computer! Not many people have that. That's pretty neat. |

This is a close-up of the Apple II keyboard. ....
Also notice there is a “BELL” key that is activated by typing “Control-G”. That’s another hold-over from old typewriters and teletype machines that actually did have a little metal bell in them!

THE STOP-LIST FEATURE
........
When COUT is sent a "bell" character (CTRL G), it does not change the screen at all, but instead produces a tone from the speaker.

Wow - thank you for sharing the link - that is indeed very informative.

Now I have two Apple II europlus and three Apple //e.
I think of selling one of the Apple //e because of space problems in my 2 room flat. I add a link if its on sell, will be sold here at myoldmac.net
