On May 24th, 1985, Sculley asks the executives to choose sides between Jobs and himself. Sculley wins and stripes Jobs off all operational responsibilities. On half a year later, Steve Jobs officially resigns from Apple. In 1986, NeXT, Inc. is founded by Steve Jobs.

Soon after leaving the company Jef Raskin (originator of the Macintosh idea) founded Information Appliance, where he designed the Canon Cat computer for Canon USA released in 1987. Only 20.000 Units where sold within first 6 months and production end.
