Wow, does this take me back. I launched a newsletter and a writing and consulting career on one of these, with a massive 1 megabyte of RAM and a 20-megabyte hard drive. I'm typing this now on an Apple laptop with 1.5 gigabytes of RAM and an 80-gigabyte hard drive. Which actually cost much less than the Mac SE. Yet that computer was great. I still have it ...

WOW - this site sure brings back memories of twenty years ago. Had a real rush trying the ORIGINAL Space Invaders and just remembering how good the Mac GUI was for those days. We have come a long way . . . but the simple elegance of that first Mac GUI will always remain . . . ah, for the "good old days"

Wow! This is cool! It's so different from Mac OS X, even from Mac OS 8, my first Mac OS (I was born in 1989, so I don't know the old Mac OSses). But, keep on going, because this is really great!!!

Excellent site! My old M00001 (2.5M) from Drexel still faithfully serves up games for the kids. Thanks for keeping the history tangable to those without relics. Its a tribute that those who labored under 'the Jolly Roger' should (would have) appreciate(d). Emulator still could use an icon for SoftPC (DOS) to complete the history lesson... Many thanks.

Well done! Running the OS 7.0 sim takes me back to when I cut my computing teeth 'way back in the 90s at previous job in another (previous) life. Brought me back to the very first day I tried (and got solidly hooked on) a Mac (one of those little cute ones)! Tho I'm now on 10.3.7, the early OSs were great fun. Bravo!

Amazing reproduction of System 7. Sure, it isn't perfectly accurate, but it is a great thing to show people what computing used to be like - and why macs used to be so special. Great job, I grew up on this system, I still emulate this system, and it is really great to see what you guys have done.
