Graphic » SuperPaint - v 1

SuperPaint - v 1 for 68k Macintosh. SuperPaint 1.0 is a very nice program for painting and other graphic work. I recommend this. It's a pity that it's not really stable. System Requirements: Requires 400k RAM.

Graphic » MacPaint - v 2.0

MacPaint was a bitmap-based graphics painting software program developed by Apple Computer and released with the original Macintosh personal computer on January 22, 1984. It was sold separately for US5 with its word processor counterpart, MacWrite.

MacPaint was notable because it could generate graphics that could be used by other applications. Using the mouse, and the clipboard and QuickDraw picture language, pictures could be cut from MacPaint and pasted into MacWrite documents. Pictures could also be cut from MacPaint and pasted into the resource fork of any application via ResEdit, allowing application internationalization.

The original MacPaint was developed by Bill Atkinson, a member of Apple's original Macintosh development team. Early development versions of MacPaint were called MacSketch, still retaining part of the name of its roots, LisaSketch. It was later developed by Claris, the software subsidiary of Apple which was formed in 1987. The last version of MacPaint was version 2.0, released in 1988. It was discontinued by Claris in 1998 because of diminishing sales.

Graphic » MacDraft - v 1.2

MacDraft version 1.2 (by Innovative Data Design, Inc) is a two dimensional drafting package. MacDraft was introduced in 1985.

MacDraft is part of the evolution of vector drawing programs, which began with MacDraw. It is a precursor to Adobe Illustrator. In a vector program, objects are stored as mathematical equations and can thus be resized, reshaped and repositioned. It is to be differentiated from bitmap 'painting' programs such as MacPaint, where there are no such things as objects, merely 'paintings' comprising pixels which are 'on' or 'off'.

MacDraft was the first Macintosh software to provide dimensions of the objects being manipulated. MacDraft was a program which allowed more accurate object-oriented drawing than possible with MacDraw. It preceded other precision object-oriented drawing programs such as ArchiCAD. An object-oriented drawing program is one in which objects such as rectangles and circles can be drawn and manipulated.

Graphic » Mac3D Art

Mac3D Art can be used for several very different purposes. Since scenes can be entered as Mathematical functions, Mac3D Art can be used in Mathematics classes to practise visualising the graphs of various functions, as well as parametrized curves. On the other hand, since scenes can also be input as PICT files, Mac3D Art can be used in a purely artistic way to make stereograms which can then be pasted into party invitations which will astound your friends.
