Original Mister "T" Macintosh Plus "Platinum" - The legendary MacPlus with 1 MB RAM , Keyboard and serial Mouse - the Mouse is added from my stock, it is a total unused platinum version. Inside
the Mac case you find the signatures of some of the Macintosh developers engraved. The Mac is tested and running well, PRAM battery plate is still in place, the battery (buy separately) has been removed.
You get also System
5.0 in English on a 3.5 inch disk to boot this insanely great computer. There is a sticker shadow on the front and the case is softly yellowed due to its age - See the photos.
When Apple wanted to launch the Macintosh computer
it called in Hartmut Esslinger from frog Design
Germany to complete the design. The Macintosh
has celebrated his 23th Birthday on 24. January
2007. This is a Museum sisplay item.
The MacPlus was the first Computer with SCSI
support, you can ad scanners,
CD Drives and external SCSI hard drives (SyQuest)! The SCSI bus on the Mac Plus is officially
rated at 1.25 MBps by Apple, although real world
testing shows it to be slightly over 2.1 kbps
- which is still 4x the speed of Apple's earlier
serial port hard drive. The Mac Plus does not
support high density floppies, but it can be used
with an external HD floppy drive as long as the
disks used are 800K floppies.
The Macintosh Plus was the first Mac with one
full, whopping megabyte of memory! This "remarkable
legend" of a Macintosh is the longest selling
Macintosh to date - Apple kept it selling for
nearly five years! Introduced in January 1986,
two years after the original Macintosh, the Plus
came with 1 MB of RAM, a new double-sided 800
KB floppy drive, and a built-in SCSI port (the
first Mac so equipped).
The Macintosh Plus was
also the first Macintosh to have a double-density 800k
disk drive, a SCSI port to allow external expansion,
and RAM slots to allow the RAM to be expanded
beyond the pre-installed limit. Not only was 1
MB more RAM than the PC-class machines could handle,
but the Plus could be expanded to 4 MB total RAM! Earlier Macs came
with a fixed amount of memory with no upgrade
path.

Original Macintosh Plus "Platinum" - Codename Mister "T" - Der legendäre Mac Plus mit Keyboard und Maus in gutem Zustand. Die Maus ist aus meinem Lager und völlig ungenutz und neuwertig. Der Mac kommt mit dem englischen
System 5, auf 3.5 Inch Diskette (Kopie), Sie können auch wahlweise ein kopiertes deutsches System haben. Die
hintere Abdeckung der PRAM Batterie ist vorhanden, die Batterie wurde jedoch entnommen. Es gibt einen leichten Aufkleberschatten auf der Frontpartie unter dem Monitor und das Gehäuse ist durch das Alter leicht vergilbt. Sehen Sie die Photos.
Auf der Innenseite des MacPlus findet
man die Unterschriften aller Entwickler in das Spritzgussgehäuse eingraviert, darunter
Steve Jobs und ´Woz´ Wozniak, die
Erfinder des Mac ! Dazu durfte jeder maßgeblich
an der Entwicklung beteiligte Mitarbeiter eine
Unterschrift auf ein Papier leisten, dieses wurde
dann mittels Filmmatritze in die bereits vorhandene
Gußform geätzt. So entsteht auf der
Gehäuseinnenseite ein Effekt mit leicht erhabenen
Unterschriften. Diese erste Master-Gußform
lebte jedoch nicht lange und es wurden nur die
ersten 70.000 Apples so gegossen. Danach kam eine
zweite Form, bei der man nicht mehr den teuren
Aufwand der nachträglichen Ätzung betrieb.

Der Macintosh Plus hatte als Prozessor einen
Motorola 68000 und basierte auf dem Gehäuse
des Macintosh 128 K und 512 K mit eingebautem
9-Zoll-Bildschirm (512x342 Pixel, monochrom),
besaß aber mehr Arbeitsspeicher (1 MB, aufrüstbar
auf 4 MB, hier 2,5 Mb), ein größeres
ROM (128 KB statt 64 KB) und eine SCSI-Schnittstelle,
an die insbesondere externe Fest- und Wechselplatten
angeschlossen werden konnte. Der Macintosh hat
jetzt schon einen festen Platz im MoMA (Museum
of Modern Art) in NewYork. Ein Museumsstück
erster Güte und ein computerhistorischer
Meilenstein.
Der Macintosh Plus läßt sich noch für tägliche
Büroarbeiten sehr gut einsetzen, einfach
weil er schneller ist als ein moderner Rechner
- In einem Test "Brief an Tante Frieda"
der Zeitschrift C´t war ein 1980er PC 400%
schneller als einer der neuen Rechner. Dieser
Test beeinhaltet: Rechner einschalten, Brief schreiben,
ausdrucken und Rechner ausschalten. Dauert mit einem MacPlus
ca 1 Minute.
