This can be confusing - the paper that was signed by the developers on 10th of February in 1982 was also stamped with the date. This date is also molded into the case among the signatures. Some people think the Mac is made in 1982 - no, only the paper was signed on that day. Thanks to Harald Sandner for the photo.
At digibarn.com I found a scan of the original signature paper. Thanks to avid Mac and Lisa document collector David Craig for providing us this image of the signatures included in the interior of the initial 128K Macintosh case. These signatures were molded into the case and included here (gradually disappearing) for several generations of Macs through to the SE. Rumor has it that Steve Jobs' signature was displaced by a power plug on the SE model. The Mac II and other Macs with case designs different from the 128K did not carry any signatures inside. Curiously, this document is marked "February 10, 1982" which may indicate that it is an early capturing of team signatures.
Because the Floppy on my Macintosh 1984 is not working propperly I opened the case to clean the drive. Sure I took pictures, have a look bellow.
Some more informations from the first owner:
I got the Mac in 1984 as 'payment' for developing a database application on "Omnis 3" for a small manufacturing company. The company owner was just as crazy about the new Macintoshes as I was so together we decided to run the company office on Mac's and not on PC's. (from a business point of view perhaps not the wisest decision, but we did have a lot of fun). I don't know what I paid for it. It was imported by Apple Netherlands in Zeist. The importer told me it was the second Mac he sold in Holland.
In my Macintosh 1984 you can find the signatures of the developer team, the same signatures (but more complete) used in the MacPlus later. They are not on silver metalic case ground like in the Plus, these ones are coated with a gray coating. I was told by an Apple insider that this case was produced for the first 10.000 Macintosh 1984 ever sold (in USA) and was given mostly to US computer dealers.

Last week I got it :-) An originally boxed Macintosh 1984
On 1. July I unboxed it :-) My first Retrochalleng Project in Summer 2008.
The Story behind my Macintosh 1984:
I bought the Mac from its first owner, he is moving to a smaller house so he decided to give away his old Mac. It was listed at eBay Germany two weeks ago by a new seller (3) who started the auction at 1 Euro and only for pick up. I mailed the seller letting him know that the Mac is in danger to go out for a few bugs (he lived in a small village). I bed 100 Euro. He said its much more worth (he was right) I bed 200 - he accepted. In addition I got the complete "Inside Macintosh" books and the original boxed MacWrite & MacPaint which where sold originally with the Macintosh in 1984. All together for 270 Euro including shipping costs - the old owner will buy a new iPod for the sum ;-) no joke.

Under the manual are the original system software disk, Guided Tour disk and the cassette tape to accompany the tour. A programmer's interrupt switch was included, which is added to the Macintosh now. The additional MacPaint Demo Cassette is on the right top.
